WHAT'S NEW FOR WHISPERINGWORD IN 2010?

1) MORE VARIETY OF DEVOTIONAL EMAILS-

Well, we are pleased to announce the arrival of a Performance Poem for the day!
You can of course see this at http://www.performancepoets.com/ - I hope you enjoy it. This adds to our daily offering of Morning and Evening Devotions. We shall of course only be sending out only one email a day, but now these daily emails shall be selected from the four functioning websites listed below.

2) MORE PREACHING OPPORTUNITIES

Men's meetings are beginning to open up for me a little more on Saturday mornings and I am looking forward to travelling around the UK and challenging the men in the church to change and grow. You can check out these dates on the event calendar at http://www.whisperingword.com/
In addition to this I have a couple of trips back to the United States this year, one of which will be a preaching trip, and also an open invitation to Pakistan. As God provides the energy, resources and time, I will keep you informed of what is happening and when.

3) MORE OF SORTED MAGAZINE AND WRITING PROJECTS

I am continuing my very early morning vigil of getting up and writing before I start the day at my proper job, and am thrilled to be continuing to write for SORTED MEN'S MAGAZINE http://www.sorted-magazine.com/single.htm?ipg=9619
Actually this is a real privilege as it challenges me to rightly present the raw Bible for real people. So far, the reception as been MOST encouraging. Other writing projects continue apace, but my adult ADD gets the better of me sometimes! If only I could focus more! If only I had more energy and time!

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH US IN 2009?

THE SPRING
I have been Pastoring at The Spring now for some 18 months now. see http://www.thespring.org.uk/ Being a church re-start it is still very, very busy with that challenging mixture of continued excitement and disappointment all mixed up together! There is still just not enough hours in the day! Bidget is working part time for a local charity whilst continuing to investigate the possibility of getting a crisis pregnancy center up and running in the area. We hope great strides will be made toward this end in the coming year.This is going to be a massive job, but there is a new charity we are hooking up with called the twobytwo trust, so who knows what might happen! In any event, do please pray for her for at the moment there continues to be no buy in from any other Christians in the area.

SORTED MAGAZINE
Like I say, I still am privileged write for the best Christian men's magazine in the country - SORTED - My job is to write a 4 page centre spread pull out on each book of the Bible. I am working with Andy Ashdown who does the design on this, I provide the content and he makes it look BRILLIANT! Check it out at Here are some associated links you might find interesting

EXHIBITIONS
I went to three big exhibitions- CRE- Detling and The Churches Big Day Out. They were expensive, and I am not sure one visit is enough to establish presence. I Don't know if I am going to be doing this in 2010?

has been up and running well, but the bog job is to try and drive traffic toward it.

I finally had my operation on my Abdominal muscles to get them sen together. At the moment, it has not been a success, but then again I am an impatient man and might just need to wait 3-6 months for it all to settle down. We shall see, but meanwhile I have a magnificent scar and my abdominal area looks like a map of the Grampians.

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY TIME?

There is still just not enough hours in the day! Bidget is working part time for a local charity whilst continuing to investigate the possibility of getting a crisis pregnancy center up and running in the area. Indeed that possibility draws ever closer. This is going to be a massive job. So do please pray for her. At the moment there continues to be no buy in from any other Christians in the area.

NEXT ON THE CALENDAR
My busmans holiday, joining the SORTED stand at the Christian Resource exhibition at Sandowne Park - Was fascinating. Lots of contacts were made, but mostly with other exhibitors and frankly it turned out to be more productive for the Spring than WhisperingWord. I'm not complaining about ha mind you! Even so, a couple of WhisperingWord books are with Hodder Faith and Waverley House. I never hold my breath with these things, especially in the present economic situations.
I managed to get out and exhibit at The Churches Big day out as well, which was shall we say, interesting. Again, most contacts were made for The Spring. An operation on my Abs means I shall miss Detling Bible week, but I hope to got to CVM and also to Mandate in Northern Ireland.

'The Whisper' WhisperingWord's Monthly Newsletter For November 2008

Hello Folks

May I first say, that I do hope this Month's November Newsletter finds you all well in these continuing and very troubled times.

BOOK AVAILABILITY!
Last month I shared with you about the fact that the WhisperingWord Devotions of, 'Night Whispers' was finally completed after a little more than three years of daily writing on both books, with over 1/2 million words and on the blog side, with well over 1000 associated pictures. With over 1.5 million emails, sent out, its been a mammoth task and is still daily attended to by myself. The scary thing is that I STILL find some editorial issues!? Will it ever end? Hahahaha!

EDITING
I say scary, because I recently paid a professional editor some £1,200 to go through both books, She did a great job. The biggest problem we had was creating the original documents in Word 97, Editing them in Word 2005, saving them in Word 97, sending them and having edited on a Mac, re-assembled and then saved as word 97. To say we had some formatting issue was an understatement! My wife Bridget spent a long time sorting it out. Thank you darling!

JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS & THE NEW YEAR

'The Whisper' WhisperingWord's News Letter For October 2008

Hello Folks

May I first say that I do hope this Newsletter Finds you all well in these very troubled times.

CONTENT COMPLETION!

Yes, October 10th is 'Red Letter Day' for me as this was the day I finally completed the content for the 2nd Book of WhisperingWord Devotions, 'Night Whispers.' I tell you after a little more than three years of daily writing on these projects, with over 1/2 million words and on the blog side, well over 1000 associated pictures, with over 1.5 million emails, well, its been a mammoth task and I must say, I am quite pleased that the content provision is over!

EDITING

As you all know, I am a little dyslexic! So for sanity and sales sake, both Wake Up! & NightWhispers are now off with a professional proof reader, who has previously done work for Walker, Puffin & Cornerstone. As I was referred by a friend of mine, I managed to get both book done for a discount price of £1,200. They should be ready I expect in 4-6 weeks!

JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS & THE NEW YEAR
Yes indeed! These two devotional books will make great Christmas presents for the people you want to start to get into the word for the New Year! S put them down on your list of things to get and I shall remind you on the November Newsletter. They should be fully ready by then.

NEW WEBSITE

Yes, we invested in a new website some 5 months ago now. at the cost of some $3,000 dollars and now $50.00 per month in hosting fees, we reckon we got a bargain. We are utterly thrilled with the design but of course, we do still have some teething problems but should have the final site debugged in a week or two! Still, we love what they have done. You can help me out on this one taking a look and dropping them a line with your EXCELLENT comments and encouragement! Again, this is a great function which we have got embedded in the site for some $25.00 per month. OUR AIMS

1) WhisperingWord exists to communicate the raw magnificence of God’s Holy Word to people who are sick of religion and longing for the reality of a coming together of Jesus the living Word, Jesus the written Word and God the Holy Spirit. WhisperingWord achieves this through the communication of Bible centred material and with the use all kinds of means and media.

2) WhisperingWord whilst remaining true and scented on Orthodox Christianity and the historical faith once delivered to the Saints will nevertheless communicate the gospel irrelevant, contemporary, and understandable ways.

3) WhisperingWord will be rooted in the reality of Christian community as it expresses itself in the out working of the Great Commission.

4) WhisperingWord will help facilitate church planting movements in a predominantly but not only, the English speaking parts of the world.

5) WhisperingWord is a Kingdom related ministry, nondenominational and nonpartisan.
